We had a very good season this spring. Ms. Karla, Mr. Tom and Jim kept things going in May and June, and now that the hot season has arrived, things have slowed down considerably.
The rains, thunder and lightning have been coming like clockwork in the late afternoons, and the grass just won't stay cut. But that means the hibicus and crape myrtle and angel trumpet are more glorious than ever, and we won't ever wish away the rain.
Karla will be moving in with her daughter over by Ormond Beach in November. She has done an amazing job of helping out with the reservations, checkouts, and all the cleaning. But she has a good chance to have some well-deserved R&R around family who love her, and we certainly wish her the best.
But that does mean that Stegbones will be looking for a camp manager later in the year. Ideally, this is a highly trustworthy married couple who will live full-time on the property rent- and utility-free with some other income potential depending on what other tasks get accomplished. If you know of just the right person or people, please call or email Stegbones. The best people to ask are our customers and those interested in the camp!
We are in the process of putting new carpet into #7 and fixing up 142 (the little block house to the north on the river) with central air conditioning and a general interior facelift. Both have some longer-term rentals initially but are expected to be available down the road for our guests. Just check with us.
We have a lot of you coming back in September and especially October - the best time of the year weather-wise. So don't be bashful - give us a call!
Have a great end to your summer.
And we will 'Catch Ya Later'.
